WHO WE ARE
Established in 1968, CVNE has been a strong voice in support of vocational nursing across the state of California, promoting the principle that LVNs are an integral member of the health care delivery team. Education enhancing presentations, legislative information and industry-critical information is shared between members of CVNE at conferences, via the use of technology-based communication and through informal networks established at CVNE events.
CVNE also partners with the Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians (BVNPT), which furthers its impactpromoting the principle that LVNs are an integral member of the health care delivery time. CVNE produces Biannual conferences with seminars offering board approved continuing educational credit, planned by the Executive Board members with strong membership input. CVNE is led by a member elected board and not less than four board members. Officers serve a term of two years and represent at least three distinct geographical areas of the state. Standing committees are established to facilitate the needs of the organization, the membership, and the profession.
The CVNE Executive Board also forms liaisons with selected organizations such as the Board of Registered Nurses (BRN), the Licensed Vocational Nurse League (LVNL), the National League of Nurses (NLN), the National Federation of Licensed Practical Nurses (NFLPN) and the National Association of Practical Nurse Educators (NAPNES).
